International Master Programme in Educational Research

The two-year International Master Programme in Educational Research is based on varied and broad educational research at the Faculty of Education. The programme focuses on education and learning as individual, interactive and collective processes in various settings in society.

Some of the compulsory courses within the programme are designed in connection with the doctoral programme at the Faculty of Education. Throughout the educational programme the students will, based on personal interests, choose to affiliate with one of several research environments at the different departments of the faculty.

Supervised by active researchers, the students will conclude the programme by writing a Master thesis in the form of a publishable research paper. After having completed the programme, the students will have a good overview of the scholarly inquiry related to education and its practical application as well as experience in professional writing and reporting on educational science research. Graduates of this programme are well prepared to apply for a PhD programme in educational research.

Completed studies (120 higher education credits, including a Master thesis, 30 higher education credits) will lead to a master degree: Master of Arts in Educational Research.

The International Master in Educational Research will be taught in English, as required by the application criteria.
