"Learning how to learn" revisited: evidence from longitudinal research

There is a rich tradition in Sweden of pre-school research focusing on how young children develop the capacity to be deep and efficient learners.

This talk will present the findings from a large scale, quantitative study of more than 3,000 children in England. Called the ¿Effective Pre-school, Primaryand Secondary Education (EPPSE)¿ project, its findings show that high quality pre-school experiences not only give children a strong developmental profile at school entry, they also enable children to learn more effectively when they move through primary school.
